Joy Simonsen

Senior Interior Designer, NSW

A seasoned industry professional with over 20 years of industry experience across retail, residential, and commercial design.

Joy has worked at Coco Republic for over five years as a Senior Designer. As project leader for her division, she provides the interior design and account management for commercial clients in the display home and multi-residential building industry.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, Joy went on to study Textile Design at Parson’s School of Design in New York. From her early career designing surface patterns, her love of colour and fabrics inspired her to pursue interior decoration and design. With over 20 years of industry experience across retail, residential and commercial design, Joy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Coco Republic.

Working closely with her clients to ensure all brief requirements are met, she is meticulous with every detail ensuring the outcome exceeds the client’s expectations. Joy sources each piece to ensure the selections meet the aesthetic style, a process which also includes customising furniture, artwork and soft furnishings for individuality. Managing each project through from brief to installation, she finishes the scheme with interior styling throughout - tailored to the client’s specific market.

Additionally, Joy is a recurring in-house speaker for Coco Republic Design School, where she shares her expertise about decorating with wall coverings and styling for both residential properties and display homes.
