Our brief was to create a space that felt lived-in yet luxurious, inviting yet opulent – a beautiful, functional space any modern Australian family would feel at home in.
With dark timber joinery and a muted palette of sandy neutrals, olive green and light steel blue, the rooms held a moody allure that needed just the right lift. Our designers brought in softness and light through thoughtfully layered rugs and luxe textiles, each piece carefully chosen to complement the colour scheme and enhance the character of the period home.
Anchoring the formal living room is our Victor Sofa, its low profile and elegant channelling adding a vintage-inspired feel. Paired with the bronze Bowie Coffee Table and opulent marble accents, the space strikes just the right balance between past and present, contemporary and timeless.
With their curvaceous, bold forms, the Willow Modular Sofa and Zurich Occasional Chair bring a touch of contemporary comfort to the second living room. Meanwhile, clean, pared-back furniture – such as the live edge Madre Dining Table and ultra-comfortable St James Dining Chair – allows the formal dining room’s charming tiles and statement lighting to take centre stage.
Stepping out onto the sunlit deck and courtyard, our Shore Outdoor Sofa and Shore Outdoor Occasional Chairs offer a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Set against the backdrop of the property’s original brickwork and classic outdoor features, these sleek pieces create a serene outdoor retreat designed to stand the test of time.
Throughout, we leaned into intriguing texture – velvets, linens, shearlings – layering tone-on-tone neutrals with metallic accents and sophisticated patterns to infuse each room with a touch of refined luxury. Marrying original features with made-to-last, modern furniture, this home is a quiet nod to the past, reframed for the way we live today.
